Scherrer Construction Receives Two Awards from The Daily Reporter Newsmakers of the Year Scherrer Construction Company, Inc. was recently recognized by The Daily Reporter at their annual Newsmakers of the Year event held in Milwaukee, WI on October 11 2017. Scherrer Construction Company non-profit organization, Scherrer Cares, received the 2017 Non-Profit Organization of the Year award. Scherrer Cares is a program that provides Buddy Benches to schools to encourage friendship and kindness among peers and eliminate bullying. To date, Scherrer Cares has positively impacted over 15,000 students with their anti-bullying initiatives. Scherrer Construction continues to lead the industry not only by their project performance, but also by their growing, dedicated team of employees. Cheryl Anderson of their Wausau office, received the 2017 Unsung Hero of the Year award. She was acknowledged for her dedication to Scherrer Construction and for going above and beyond in her role as Office Administrator. She joined the company in August, 2016. Cheryl is also part of the Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce team of volunteer ambassadors.
